Thank you for your interest. Joseph M. Bruccoli
In 1935, Joseph M. Bruccoli - the proprietor of a Bronx drugstore - known as The Boss - and Arthur Michelli designed and made two solid hardwood rocking horses for their sons. The Bruccoli horse is currently being used by the Boss's great-grandchildren. There is a family legend that F.A.O. Schwarz expressed interest in acquiring the rights to manufacture it, but the two fathers destroyed the patterns and plans.
Seventy-two years later, Joseph M. Bruccoli's grandson is producing hand-crafted replicas of the original rocking horse. They are made one at a time of solid maple and are mounted on solid oak/maple safety platforms. They feature smooth glide steel ball bearings and brass cap nut hardware and are available in several styles of staining, painting or custom-painting.
